How to Play

I love books and feel there is magic in them. So, I went about creating magic in my books.

Just like Shrek and his onion, The Possum’s Tale has many layers. Each one stands alone and is amazing.

  1. The story: written in poetry form with a lesson and questions for parents/educators at the back if they want to delve deeper.
  2. The illustrations: wow-Venus is amazing, her images simply leave a person or child spellbound!
  3. Oh wait! There are more than just illustrations, look carefully, there are hidden images on the pages. If you think you see something, go to the Hidden Pictures page on this site and you will see all of the images and what they are.
  4. Are you not certain how many images you should look for on each page? I purposefully did not tell you this in the book. You can leave it as challenging or as “easy” as you wish.

  1. Once you have found all of the hidden pictures (keep them in order), you can reorganize the letters to unscramble a quote that is the ultimate message behind this book. The words will appear in order–scrambled, but in order. For example, the first three items you will find are an owl, heart and wand, unscrambled these are either “How” or “Who” (in this case it will be “How”).
  2. Is your child a fact not myth person? I included a page of facts on possums just for them! (What is the difference between an opossum and a possum? Find out!)
  3. Finally, for my friends who just like pictures and codes, go to the back of the book: Legend of Native Symbols. You will notice that at the top of each page there is a symbol. You will be able to decode much of the meaning behind the book by decoding the symbols.

Most of all – Have fun!
